All Marvin residents pay both Village and County property taxes. The current tax rate is $0.06 per $100 of assessed value. Taxes are due September 1 and become delinquent after January 5. In North Carolina, property taxes are levied annually against all real property, business equipment, and vehicles by each municipality and each county.

2021 Union County Revaluations
At its January 28 Work Session, Council received a briefing from Union County staff on the process for revaluating property. Under North Carolina law, the county regularly revalues property for the purpose of assessing property taxes so that residents and businesses are paying based on the current market value of their property. Beginning this month, Union County staff will conduct a series of community meetings on the 2021 Revaluation of property. You will receive notice of your property’s new value in February. You can appeal the new property value to the Board of Equalization and Review in April. Please see the “2021 Revaluation Timeline” on Union County’s website.
