Learn About Marvin's Identity and History

Village of Marvin, Enriched by NatureThe Village of Marvin is not just Enriched by Nature, Marvin is also enriched by its history! Marvin was initially incorporated in 1994 by a group of Union County residents who wanted to chart their own course together. Since incorporation, Marvin has grown from a few hundred residents to more than 6,300 residents.

In 2022, the Village of Marvin conducted a branding project with extensive public input to create a logo and tagline that truly enveloped everything that Marvin residents love about their community. If you're new to the area or are just getting to know your community, we are proud to welcome you to the Village of Marvin, Enriched by Nature!

Village Communications

Marvin Wise NewsletterCommunication and transparency are paramount among the priorities of the Village Government. Throughout the past few years, the Village of Marvin has greatly expanded its online presence and communicates through multiple channels, including through our Resident's Email List, as well as on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube!

The Village of Marvin is proud to publish an email newsletter twice each month. The Marvin Wise Newsletter is the official government email newsletter of the Village of Marvin and is home to all the latest information about Village events and projects. The newsletter is usually published on the first and third Fridays of each month.

For Village email communications, there are archives online of our most recent email newsletters, meeting notices, public hearing notices, and press releases. Click the link below for more information about Village Communications and for links to sign up for our Residents' List!

Attend a Meeting or Watch One Online

One of the fastest ways to learn about what is going on in Marvin is by attending meetings. Agenda packets are normally published on the Friday before each scheduled meeting. If you are not able to attend a meeting, please consider watching our meeting recordings on YouTube. Most meetings are either livestreamed or are video-recorded and posted on YouTube.

Coffee with Council & Town Hall Meetings

Coffee with Council LogoCoffee with Council are events intended to promote transparency and open dialogue between the Village Council and the public. During these events, members of the public can meet with the Mayor and Council Members in an informal setting to discuss issues of interest.

Coffee with Council events are held on the first Thursday morning of each month from 10-11am, as well as on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month from 6-7pm.

Town Hall Meeting LogoTown Hall Meetings are special events usually held twice per year, where the public is able to learn and ask questions about all that the Village Council and Staff are working on. These events are intended to promote government transparency. Sometimes, the Village even hosts a variation of these events where the event is an open forum, meaning that the topics to be discussed are decided upon by those in attendance.

Contact Your Council Members & Village Staff

Openness, communication, and transparency are important values of the Village Government. While we encourage everyone to attend meetings, to speak during public comments, to attend Coffee with Council, and to attend community events, we understand that the lives of our residents are incredibly busy. If there is ever an issue that you need help with, please contact your Council Members or Village Staff! The Village Council and Village Staff are always more than happy to help and can set up one-on-one appointments with you to discuss any issue in the community.
