Dear Marvin Residents,

There is a high-density residential rezoning proposal at the Southwest corner of New Town Road and Providence Road (behind the storage facility). The proposal is for a 310-unit apartment complex on 19 acres, which yields a density of over 16 units per acre. This property is in unincorporated Union County, but adjacent to Marvin and Weddington, so we strongly encourage residents to attend the virtual Public Input Meeting (PIM) and make sure your voice is heard.

The Village of Marvin's stance is to oppose all high density development in our area, especially adjacent to our border, and we have consistently collaborated with our neighboring municipalities to resist such proposals. This time, we need as many residents as possible to attend the meeting and help reinforce our stance of opposing this rezoning.

The PIM will be held tomorrow, January 27th at 6:30 p.m. virtually only, and the link to the meeting is:

Please email the Village Planner if you have any questions or concerns about the development proposal or the meeting. Thank you!
