Mayor Pollino recently called for a special meeting of the Village Council to be held Monday, November 29 at 5:30pm at Village Hall (10004 New Town Road) and virtually on Webex. This meeting is to inform public on the latest developments and news of the New Town/Marvin Road Roundabout. NCDOT has been finalizing design over the last few months; there have been changes to the last design submitted to the Village which we have not seen yet. NCDOT is still actively acquiring right of way and is continuing to closely coordinate efforts with property owners to reduce impacts and cost.

The Village has recently been notified that the construction could start as late as spring of 2023, due to continued efforts on land acquisition, design changes, Utility relocations, and certain operational constructions during cold weather. NCDOT will work to expedite project delivery if possible; however we want to invite public to attend this meeting virtually or in person to hear directly from NCDOT on progress over the last several years and next steps. Additionally, we would like to invite you to give input to NCDOT representatives as to the importance of this project for Marvin and surrounding areas. We hope you can attend and voice your comments and concerns to the folks directly leading this project!
