Dear Residents of Marvin,

Apologies for the short notice, but we were just made aware that the second public involvement meeting for the Aventon apartment complex will be held tomorrow, February 11th, at 6:30pm. (The developer was not statutorily required to send our office an invitation). The meeting will be held virtually and requires registration in advance this time.

As you may know by now, there is a rezoning proposal for an apartment complex at the SW corner of New Town and Providence Road. It is adjacent to Marvin and Weddington but located in unincorporated Union County. The proposal calls for 310 apartments on 19 acres, having a density of 16 units per acre. The Village of Marvin's official stance is to oppose high-density housing, and so we encourage as many residents as possible to join the meeting and make your voice heard.

Additionally, the County Planning Board and Commissioners will be hearing the proposal to rezone, likely beginning in March. We will post updates to the Public Hearing dates as we receive more information.

Thank you!
