On Monday, August 14, the Village of Marvin was notified by NCDOT that the Marvin Road/New Town Road intersection will be closed on Monday, August 21 for the construction of the roundabout. The closure is scheduled to be 8 weeks.  Motorist traveling will have a signed detour in place along New Town Road, U.S. 521, Ardrey Kell Road, Marvin Road, Joe Kerr Road, and Marvin School Road. Those who usually travel through this intersection will need to plan their route accordingly during the construction progress.

The detour route runs along Marvin School Road, Joe Kerr Road, Marvin Road, Ardrey Kell Road, and US 521 Charlotte Hwy.
