

5K/Family Fun Run
Help us kick off our Marvin Day Celebration by joining us for a 5k and family fun run at Marvin Elementary School! Registration is open now – so please sign up! The Marvin Day 5K/Fun Run will take place on Saturday, May 21st at 8:30 am. The run starts and finishes at Marvin Elementary School and takes runners on a scenic route along the Greenway. The 5K race is limited to 150 runners.

Heath Fair/Blood Drive
Our Marvin Day Celebration begins with a health and wellness fair at Marvin Elementary School! Here, in addition to our 5K and family fun run we will have inflatables, a fire truck, and the “Big Red Bus” from One Blood, to take blood donations. There will be some vendors on display in the school gym for a small expo as well. Visit the booths and learn more about all kinds of health and wellness topics and local businesses.

Art Display and Tours
We are fortunate to have some outstanding artists in Marvin! Come visit our Art Display at Marvin Efird Park Barn, featuring 3 local artists! In addition, three artists will be offering art tours at their homes. These are self-guided tours. The display at the barn will be open from 9am-2pm. The displays at the artists’ homes will be open from 10am-2pm.

Nature Walks
Attention nature lovers! The Village of Marvin is committed to expanding its greenways and trails with the goals of connectivity, conservation, sustainability, and increased recreation. Join us for a family friendly, leisurely nature walk at Marvin Efird Park to learn more about our greenways, natural habitats, plants, and the wildlife of our great Village. We kindly request registration for our nature walks so we make sure we have enough guides on hand. Walks will begin at the front of Marvin Efird Park in the Cottage Garden. Tours are offered at 9am, 10am, 2pm, or 3pm.

Firethorne Country Club Open House
Firethorne is holding an open house from 9:30am – 12:00 pm during Marvin Day! Enjoy mimosas and brunch items, while you learn about all the great amenities the club has to offer its members.

Garden Tours
Marvin is home to many gardening enthusiasts - from those who lease beds in our community garden, those who volunteer for our Cottage Garden at Marvin Efird Park and even master gardeners who have some incredible landscaped gardens at home. Some of these residents are opening up their properties for self-guided tours! Stop by the Cottage Garden or any of the participating home gardens between 10am-2pm on Marvin Day. The gardeners will be there to answer questions and share some secrets to a successful garden. We are certain that you will learn something new and be inspired to make your own creations.

Carolina Raptor Wildlife Exhibit
The Carolina Raptor Center is coming to Marvin Day to introduce you to their extra special birds of prey! They will have birds, props, and hands on activities to help you understand where raptors fit in our world and why humans have been fascinated with them for thousands of years. A 45- minute live demonstration will take place in the Marvin Efird Park Barn from 10:30-11:15a. Space will be limited.

Car Show
Bring the family out for the 12th Annual Marvin Ridge Band Car Show, from 11am – 3pm at Marvin Ridge High School. This car show will feature some of the coolest rides in Marvin and the surrounding areas! This event helps supports the Marvin Ridge Band Booster Club. If you have a car you would like to feature in the car show please register.

Pony Rides and Petting Zoo
We will have two ponies available for rides at Marvin Efird Park from 12-2pm! In addition, A Zoo To You will be here with a petting zoo. Come out to ride the ponies or to meet (and pet) an alpaca, llama, teacup pig, some mini goats, a baby doll sheep, mini cow, and bunnies!
Village Hall Tour and Meet and Greet
Visit our newly opened Village Hall during Marvin Day, which is located at 10006 New Town Road (at the Marvin School Road roundabout). Village Hall will be open from 12pm - 4pm for tours of the building and opportunities to meet members of the Marvin Village Council.
Additionally, Gene Stowe, author of Inherit the Land, will be on site to share the history of Marvin.
Disc Golf
Did you know that Marvin Efird Park recently added a 9-hole disc golf course? Bring some friends and come play a game during Marvin Day! Are you wondering what disc golf is or how to play?
You’re in luck! We are hosting two FREE disc golf clinics on the 6th hole. One starts at 12pm and the other at 2pm. Limit of 25 people per clinic. Those who participate in the clinic will receive a FREE souvenir Marvin Day disc! Reservations are required to participate in the clinic, but anyone may play on the other holes.

Equine Showcase
Cedarhill Farm will be hosting an Equine showcase! Come see some of their horses and learn about dressage, jumping and other equine activities. The showcase is from 4-5pm across the street from the high school. Parking is at Marvin Ridge High School. Finish up just in time to head over to the stadium and get a good seat for the concert!

Concert
Our biggest Marvin Day event will take place at Marvin Ridge High School beginning at 6pm! Join us for a FREE live country music concert in the Marvin Ridge stadium, with Asheville's up and coming, Nashville-signed, music artist Ryan Perry! Perry has been on the road touring throughout the southeast. He has headlined his own shows and also opened for some of country’s biggest stars including Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson, Ronnie Dunn, Lee Greenwood, and others.

Fireworks Display
The grande finale to our Marvin Day Celebration will be a spectacular fireworks show! The fireworks show will start right after the concert and light up the sky over the High School.
Food Trucks
Food Trucks will be on hand at all three of our main Marvin Day locations, beginning with coffee and kid-friendly beverages at Marvin Elementary school in the morning. Later we will have food trucks on hand at both Marvin Efird Park and Marvin Ridge High School for your lunch and dinner needs. We will also have ice cream for staying cool!
